The process of identifying highly able pupils (AACC) takes place in two stages. First, a screening phase is carried out using multiple methods to identify students with exceptional abilities, before moving on to a rigorous identification phase. In Spain, this procedure varies according to the autonomous community, where there is no unified criterion. This study aims to test the psychometric goodness of fit of the DIAC-F screening instrument. To this end, 356 family members of secondary school students participated in the study. The results show that the test is valid and reliable, as well as showing a relationship with the variable perfectionism, although not with the personality factor ‘Openness to experience’. In spite of this, this instrument may be useful in the future for use in the process of detecting a highly able population.
